Golden Triangle tourism campaign: Mardin, Diyarbakır & Sanlıurfa to meet the world

The “Culture and Faith Destination Workshop” organized to promote the tourism potential of the southeastern Anatolian provinces of DIYARBAKIR, MARDIN and SANLIURFA, began in Diyarbakır. TURSAB (Association of Travel Agencies) President Firuz BAGLIKAYA attended the workshop on culture and Faith destination in Diyarbakır, Mardin and Sanlıurfa. He started the opening speech of the event by expressing condolences to the citizens who lost their lives in the Izmir earthquake.

BAGLIKAYA who stated that the tourism sun rose from Diyarbakir said: “Today, our regional representation board presidents who come from all over Turkey to be partners in this excitement, our very valuable travel agencies and board members who are engaged in cultural tourism are also with us.

One of the most important tasks of tourism people like us is to promote the unique beauties of this region, together with our citizens, building bridges with the people of the world. It is to convey the emotions we experience, the common heritage, with the universality and responsibility of being human.

Turkey should have been at a much better point in culture and faith tourism by now. 80 percent of the 45 million foreign guests who came to our country in 2019, came to provinces such as Antalya, Aydin, Mugla, Izmir and Istanbul. The share of the remaining 76 provinces is unfortunately very low.

Anatolia which is a unique destination with its cuisine, nature and people has hosted 13 great civilizations. It is already time to see to it cultural travelers get to know this land and share its fascinating legends and stories with all such travelers in the whole world.

As the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, I would like to emphasize once again that we are ready to do everything that falls on us, that we will continue to work hard for the development of tourism in the region.”

Deputy Minister of culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan also made a speech saying “We will introduce all the provinces of Turkey on our web page goturkey.com. We have an outstanding product, if we can show this product to the peoples of the world with the right investments, millions of people will come to explore the area, just like we experienced in last year’s GOBEKLITEPE occasion.
