She urgently called for a support plan to save small businesses in crisis.

Highlighting Muğla’s growing tourism crisis, Özcan said the region’s economy is hanging by a thread. “Inflation hasn’t just crushed household budgets—it’s flattened tourism too,” she warned. “Muğla’s tourism industry is now in critical condition. Foreign tourist numbers have plummeted, bookings are far below expectations, shopkeepers are on the brink of bankruptcy, and seasonal workers are facing unemployment.”

Özcan didn’t hold back: “This isn’t a tourism season—it’s a collapse season.” She described how Muğla’s world-famous bays, once teeming with visitors, have fallen eerily quiet. “Our coves, which used to host millions, are now silenced by the government’s misguided economic policies,” she said.
A Call for Immediate Action
To revive the region’s economy, Özcan demanded a comprehensive and urgent support package. “A tourism emergency plan must be launched immediately for Muğla,” she stated. “Targeted incentives should be provided for accommodation, transportation, and service sectors. The heavy tax and social security burdens on small businesses must be urgently reduced.”
