Passenger bus in transit catches fire on the Istanbul-Inebolu route

A Metro Turizm passenger bus on the Istanbul-İnebolu route in Kastamonu became unusable after catching fire.

The fire broke out yesterday morning in the engine compartment of the intercity passenger bus belonging to Metro Turizm, located in the Aşağı Çaylı village area on the Kastamonu-İnebolu highway. Upon noticing the flames, the passengers were evacuated from the bus.

The 10 passengers and staff on the bus moved to a safe area on their own. The fire was extinguished by the fire brigade after an hour of work following the emergency call.

While the completely burned bus was rendered unusable, an investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
