Police break the door to apartment of journalist based on false report

After an unfounded ‘live bomb report’ made by e-mail in Istanbul, to the police broke the door to the apartment of Sayime BAŞÇI the reporter of the Sözcü newspaper, with a battering-ram.

Journalist was not at home during the raid, neighbors wanted to intervene in the incident.

The policemen warned the neighbors not to interfere. The neighbors called Başçı by phone in Adana to talk to the police and it turned out that the report was unfounded.
