President Erdogan has announced that after the museum status was revoked, a congregation of 1000-1500 people can be hosted in Hagia Sophia, where the first Friday prayers will be held on July 24.

Answering questions from reporters in Istanbul, Erdogan underlined that the Religious Affairs Department is taking care of the invitations. The president said the entrances to the mosque would be controlled, and that they would both be X-rayed for security and kept pure in accordance with the physical distance due to the outbreak.
