After a cabinet meeting today, the President said, “During the month of Ramadan, all businesses will do takeaway service. Activities such as iftar (breaking of past) and sahur (meal eaten before starting fasting) gatherings will not be allowed. During the month of Ramadan, we will impose curfew restrictions on weekends across the country.”

The Cabinet meeting held today in Beştepe under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lasted 3.5 hours. After the meeting in which Covid-19 struggle, risk map declared on March 1st, numbers of cases in provinces classified as low, medium, high and evaluation of the first month of the normalization process was discussed President Erdogan held a press conference.

Erdogan shared following:

We are trying to reach our trades people who are having difficulty to survive and also our nation which is overwhelmed due to strict measures, by taking steps to normalize in any situation where conditions allow. Despite this, when the number of patients and deaths increases, we have to update the measures in accordance with our responsibilities to our nation.

The way to save our country from the crisis caused by the epidemic as soon as possible is to strictly comply with the rules and stop the epidemic from being a threat. As in all matters, but especially in relation to the measures of the epidemic, the police of everyone has to be their own conscience and mind.

NEW RESTRICTIONS FOR RAMADAN

If we can’t reduce the number of cases of patients and deaths faster than in countries with close humanitarian and commercial relations, we will fall behind the global normalization process.

The cost of this to our country will be much heavier in all areas from trade to tourism. As in every cabinet meeting for the past year, today we have evaluated in detail all developments related to the outbreak.

Starting from an advanced age in vaccination, we began to see the effects of reaching the figure of 15 million in the field. This way, the rates of advanced age groups in case patients and intensive care figures have decreased significantly. Cases and patients, as well as the increase in the number of deaths, force us to review our current practices.

During the month of Ramadan, we will impose curfew restrictions on weekends across the country. During said period, all businesses will serve takeaways. Activities such as mass Iftar and sahur will not be carried out.

NUMBER OF VERY HIGH-RISK PROVINCES REACHES 58

If we can’t reduce the number of cases of patients and deaths faster than in countries with close humanitarian and commercial relations, we will fall behind the global normalization process. The cost of this to our country will be much heavier in all areas from trade to tourism. As in every Cabinet meeting for the past year, today we have evaluated in detail all developments related to the outbreak.

Starting from an advanced age in vaccination, we began to see the effects of reaching the figure of 15 million in the field. In this way, the rates of advanced age groups in case patients and intensive care figures decreased significantly. Cases and patients, as well as the increase in the number of deaths, force us to review our current practices.

As is known, we have divided our provinces into colors by determining low-risk, medium-risk, high-risk and very high-risk according to criteria such as Case, patient, death, hospital capacity and vaccination.

Unfortunately, the number of provinces in the red category, which constitute a very high risk group, has reached 58 cities, which constitute eighty percent of our population.

In light of all the data we have and the evaluations we have made, we have decided to share the following points with our nation today.

-Curfew restrictions throughout Turkey will continue every day of the week as 21.00 in the evening and 5.00 in the morning

-Weekend restrictions which are implemented in red category provinces on Sundays only, will be in place on Saturday and Sunday now.

-Businesses such as restaurants, cafes will be able to operate in accordance with 50% capacity and other established rules in all of Turkey without color separation.

-Takeaway service after closing time and on curfew days will continue in its current form.

NEW RESTRICTIONS FOR RAMADAN

* During Ramadan, we will all make some sacrifices together. During this blessed month, we will impose curfew restrictions on weekends across the country.

* Only during the month of Ramadan, businesses such as restaurants and cafes across Turkey will limit their services to takeaways.

* Again, during the month of Ramadan, mass events such as iftar and sahur will not be held throughout the country. In addition to the existing support, we will make some contributions to businesses such as restaurants and cafes that will be affected by this application.

* In April May, as part of the normalization and free leave application, our restaurant and cafe employees who cannot benefit from insurance premium support will also bear the premium burden, and we will also pay them in cash, $ 1500 per person.

* I invite our citizens to carefully and sensitively evaluate this process in order to have a picture of Turkey, in which we will experience our freedom in all areas with the holiday.
