Starting from the beginning of the year, the driver’s license and passport fees and traffic fines will increase at this rate.

The revaluation rate, which is decisive in the increase of taxes, fees and penalties, has been determined. With the decision published in the Official Gazette, the revaluation rate determining the increase in penalties, fees and some taxes in 2023 was announced as 122.93 percent.

HOW MUCH WILL THE PASSPORT AND DRIVER’S LICENSE FEES BE?

The 6-month passport fee will increase from 309 lira 17 kurus to 689 lira 24 kurus.

The passport fee for a period of 3 years and above will increase from one thousand 48 lira to 2 thousand 337 lira 95 kurus.

The class A driver’s license fee will increase from 370 lira to 825 lira 87 kurus, and the class B driver’s license fee will increase from a thousand 116 lira 90 kurus to 2 thousand 489 lira 77 kurus.

In 2023, there will also be an increase in the private communication tax by 122.93 percent. The registration fee for phones brought from abroad and the fee charged for the first subscription will also increase at this rate.

TRAFFIC FINES WILL ALSO BE INCREASED

In the new year, traffic fines will also increase at this rate. The penalty for not wearing a seat belt will increase from 196 TL to 437 TL.

The penalty for running a red light will increase from 427 TL to 952 TL.

Drivers who exceed the speed limit between 10 and 30 percent in traffic will be fined 952 TL, those who exceed between dec 30 and 50 percent will be fined 980 TL and those who exceed 50 percent will be fined 4 thousand 64 TL.

The penalty for driving under the influence of alcohol will also vary between 4 thousand 64 liras and 8 thousand 190 liras. (NTV.COM.TR)
