Renewal Period for Old-Style Driver’s Licenses Extended 

The renewal period for old-style driver’s licenses has been extended. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the deadline for renewing old-style driver’s licenses has been extended to “July 31, 2025”. 

Minister Yerlikaya shared following statement:

“The period for renewing old-style driver’s licenses, as determined under the current conditions and considering the needs of our citizens, has been extended to July 31, 2025.” 

In the same statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya emphasized following:

“Under Article 10 of the Temporary Provisions of the Highway Traffic Regulation, the deadline for renewing old-style driver’s licenses has been extended to July 31, 2025, taking into account the current circumstances and the needs of our citizens.” 

He also shared that there were currently 5,413,148 old-style driver’s licenses in circulation. Minister Yerlikaya urged citizens to act promptly to avoid last-minute rushes at population directorates and healthcare facilities where medical reports are issued, ensuring no inconvenience arises: 

“Let’s renew our old driver’s licenses by the end of the extended period to avoid any issues.”
