Salman Rushdie comes off respirator, starts to talk
A statement on the state of health of writer Salman Rushdie who was attacked with a knife in the US State of New York, came from his colleague Aatish Taseer. Taseer quoted Rushdi as coming off the respirator and starting to talk.
A statement was made regarding the health status of Salman Rushdie who was attacked in New York last Friday. Writer Aatish Taseer’s social media account said in a statement that Rushdie was removed from the respirator, it was reported that he was able to talk.
The writer was given a death fatwa and threatened in 1989 because of the book of Satanic Verses.
The writer was attacked by gunmen at an event at the Chautauqua Institute which he attended as a speaker in the US State of New York. Witnesses had said a person had come on to the scene and stabbed him many times.
