Scientist warns after Erzurum earthquake: 7 magnitude earth-quake could come any minute

Geological engineer Prof. Dr . Naci Görür said that after the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that had occurred in Erzurum, “all geoscientists, including himself, were expecting an earthquake over 7 in this section”.

Görür evaluated the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that had occurred at 23.30 in the Çat district of Erzurum yesterday evening and was felt in provinces such as Bingöl, Muş, Erzincan, Diyarbakır with the share he made on his social media account.

Görür who stated that they were expecting an earth quake of more than 7 magnitude in the region, shared the following:

“There was a 4.9 earthquake in Elmalı-Yedisu / Bingöl. This earthquake is on the Yedisu section of KAF. As you know, all geoscientists, including me, are expecting an earthquake bigger than 7 magnitude in this section. The last major earthquake here was in 1784. Considering the time that has passed, the expected earthquake is at hand.”
