Significant Price Hike for Alcohol: Rakı, whiskey, vodka prices to increase!

Following the recent increase in cigarette prices, a price hike is also coming for alcoholic beverages. Erol Dündar, the Chairman of the Association of Liquor Store Operators (Tekel Bayileri Yardımlaşma Derneği – TBYD), announced that a price increase of 5% to 15% is expected for the heavy alcoholic beverage category.

Alcoholic beverages, one of the most heavily taxed items, are once again expected to see price hikes. In an interview with Egehan Erkün of *Tele1.com.tr*, Dündar shared that a new price hike is expected for heavy alcoholic drinks such as rakı, vodka, whiskey, gin, and tequila.

Price Increase Expected to be Between 5% and 15%

Dündar stated that the increase would range between 5% and 15% and is expected to take effect starting from the first week of October. The most recent price hike, approximately 20% to 25%, took place on July 6 for the heavy alcohol category.
