Silver Climbs Alongside Gold as Price Nears 1980 Record High

Silver on the Rise – With gold hitting record levels, silver has joined the rally, climbing close to its 1980 high. The price of silver reached 49.00 dollars per ounce today, up 1.1% from yesterday, approaching the 49.20 level last seen in April 2011. Back in January 1980, silver had briefly touched 50.36 dollars, marking its all-time high.
Heading Toward a 45-Year Peak
Analysts highlight that silver may continue to rise, though it could lag slightly behind gold due to the current slowdown in the solar energy market. The metal remains in focus as investors look for strong alternatives in a volatile global economy.
Morgan Stanley’s Record Forecast
Financial giant Morgan Stanley expects silver prices to hit 50.20 dollars per ounce in 2026. The bank also forecasts gold to climb to 4,400 dollars next year, underlining its continued dominance in the commodities market.
HSBC Revises Silver Outlook Upward
HSBC has sharply raised its silver price forecast, now expecting an average of 38.05 dollars per ounce for this year and a year-end target of 49 dollars. For 2026, the projection stands at 41.50 dollars. The bank also anticipates a wide trading range between 45.00 and 53.00 dollars for the remainder of 2025, and 40.00 to 55.00 dollars for the following year.
A Bullish Path Ahead
Silver is approaching a historic milestone as investor interest grows. With strong predictions from major banks and a supportive macroeconomic environment, the metal could experience further momentum in the years ahead.
