Storks landing in Konya are fed with fish by municipal teams

STORKS IN KONYA

Storks that landed in the city center affected by adverse weather conditions during migration in Konya are given fish by municipal teams. Regarding the issue, Mayor Altay has said, “As long as the storm continues, we will continue to feed our guests.”

Storks, which are described as birds heralding spring and come to the country when the weather starts to warm up. They are seen on empty areas in the city center due to the storm in Konya. Metropolitan Municipality teams distribute food to storks, while the animal ambulance “Canbulan” which is used in emergency response, is also on standby in the region.

The Mayor of the town has noted that the coldest season of recent years has occurred, and they have embraced all the creatures in nature affected by adverse weather conditions. He went on to say, “We will feed our guests as long as the storm continues.” Altay stated that they provide nutrition for storks caught in a storm while passing through the skies of Konya during migration and forced to land in the city center. He said, “Our guests will stay in our city until the storm subsides. As a municipality, we also feed storks with fish so that they don’t starve. We will continue to feed our guests as long as the storm continues.”
