Storm hits Bodrum badly, homes and businesses flooded

The strong storm with lodos (southwest wind) that started in the Bodrum district of Muğla this morning paralyzed life in the district. Houses and businesses were flooded due to the giant waves that hit the beach, slabs and roofs of some businesses flew off, material damage occurred.
In the Bodrum district of Muğla, life was paralyzed in the tourist district due to the severe lodos that started today in the morning and increased in severity along with torrential rainfall in the afternoon.
FERRY SERVICES CANCELLED
Due to the storm, the speed of which exceeded 70 kilometers per hour, ferry services from the district to Datca- Datca to Bodrum could not be operated. With the warnings made 24 hours ago, while fishing boats were anchored in the harbor, the exposed boats drifted ashore, property damage occurred. The captains of the boats that were in the open, on the other hand, fled to the fishermen’s shelters from where they were. Some amateur fishing boats, on the other hand, dragged anchor and drifted ashore.
GIANT WAVES BATTERED HOMES AND BUSINESSES FOR HOURS
Houses, cafeterias, restaurants and hotels on the beach were flooded due to the giant waves that came quickly to the beach and rose up to 10 meters high in the Kumbahçe Neighborhood and Ortakent Neighborhood. While the waves went up to Cumhuriyet Street, the tables and chairs of the businesses on the beach were flooded. The sea came in about 20 meters with the waves.
Due to the violent lodos in the district, damage was caused to the solar energy of the houses, the roofs of some businesses and signs. It was stated that torrential rain would be effective in the evening as well.
