DRUG SHORTAGE IN TURKEY

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has answered the criticisms of deputies on the budget of his ministry for the year 2023 at the Plenary Session of the Grand National Assembly.

In his speech, the minister stated that the current drug problem in the country would be solved as soon as possible.

Emphasizing that there was no such thing as denying that there were drugs, lacking in the market, Koca said that there was a global supply problem related to the supply of active ingredients of medicines, as well as a pricing problem caused by the exchange rate difference.

MEDICINE SHORTAGE PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY YEAR DUE TO EXCHANGE RATE INCREASE

Koca said, “Another problem is that the exchange rate update occurs periodically once a year, in February. As this date approaches, stock problems arise. We are aware of the problem and we have the solution. We won’t leave our patients without medicine. We will solve the problem as soon as possible. Those who ask for medicine will find them.”
