Sweden responds to situation of Turk brought over from Sweden for Corona treatment

Jimmy Gottfridsson, an official of the local government where the hospital is located, responded to the allegations about Emrullah Güçken, who was brought to Turkey from Sweden because he was not treated at a hospital in Sweden. The official said: “We don’t have a problem with hospitalizing serious Corona patients. However, many coronavirus patients continue their treatment at their homes”.
Emrullah Gülken, a Turkish citizen who caught coronavirus, was brought to Turkey by private jet belonging to the Ministry of Health on the grounds that he could not receive treatment in Sweden. The issue had also been reported in the Swedish press. Jimmy Gottfridsson, a press officer at the local government, where the hospital allegedly did not hospitalize the Turk gave a statement to RS FM about the matter.
Asked about Emrullah Gülken’s illness, Gottfridsson did not provide information due to patient-doctor confidentiality but he said “Full confidentiality is essential in the health system in Sweden. In no way can a detail be given about their health status and the treatments they receive”.
Asked “What the reason was for the patients no hospitalization”, the official said: “Only patients who are required to be hospitalized are allowed for hospitalization in the aSkane region and this includes Covid-19 cases. We do not have a crisis/distress about hospitalizing patients who have a serious illness due to the corona. Every case has a medical evaluation. We would also like to emphasize that many Coronavirus patients continue their treatment at their homes,”.
Jimmy Gottfridsson also spoke about allegations that the Swedish immigration office had opened an investigation into the family for defaming the Swedish state and said: “I can tell you that something like this has never happened before in Sweden. There is also no such crime in Swedish law”.
