Tension between USA and Russia: Su-27 causes US drone to fall into Black Sea
The announcement by the American military that a drone crashed into the Black Sea after the intervention of Russian warplanes has raised concerns about the escalation of tensions in the region.
According to the statement of the American military, the US MQ-9 “Reaper” model unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into the Black Sea after hitting the propeller of the Russian Su-27 fighter jet.
The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged that its planes had been following the UAV flying over the Black Sea, but argued that there had been no direct contact between the planes and that the UAV crashed after a “hard maneuver”.
RUSSIA’S CLAIM OF THE UKRAINIAN WAR
The Russian Tass News agency has quoted Anatoly Antonov Russia’s Ambassador to Washington as saying “US DRONE was conducting reconnaissance in the region on behalf of the Ukrainian army”.
Antonov continued as follows:
‘The unacceptable actions of the US military in the region so close to our border, cause concern for us. We know very well what such reconnaissance flights are made for. What are they doing thousands of miles from the US? The answer is very clear – to collect intelligence that will be used by the Kiev regime to attack our territory and our army.’
