Terror in Moscow: Death toll rises to 143
An armed attack took place at a shopping and entertainment center in the Russian capital Moscow. The death toll from the attack has risen to 143, with over 100 injured. The ISIS terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to TRT News, the Russian Investigative Committee stated that the death toll could increase. All evidence, including weapons and ammunition at the scene, has been seized. Genetic, ballistic, and fingerprint examinations are ongoing. All camera footage has been seized and is being examined.
What had happened?
Armed individuals attacked the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow on the evening of March 22nd.
Footage shared on social media showed the attackers firing randomly inside the hall, while the Russian Federal Security Service reported that initial findings from the terrorist attack indicated 40 deaths. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko also announced that 115 people were injured, with 60 of them in serious condition.
A fire also broke out on the roof of the concert hall building, and hundreds of teams were dispatched to extinguish the fire. The roof of the building collapsed after some time.
