The car ferry service between Bursa and Istanbul comes to an end

It has been stated that IDO, which leases ferries from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, had a dispute with IMM about maintenance costs. It was learned that 2 ferries operating Mudanya-Yenikapı flights are preparing to end their activities due to increased diesel costs. Mudanya which has been one of the most important actors of passenger transportation by sea between Bursa and Istanbul for 14 years, will be history.

IDO which has not been able to come to an agreement with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on the maintenance costs of Orhangazi 1 and Osmangazi 1 car ferries carrying millions of passengers since 2007 and 2008, is preparing to end its service from Güzelyalı pier to Istanbul, citing the rising fuel prices since the beginning of the year.

Due to the fact that BUDO (Bursa Sea Ferries) started services to Istanbul and also Osmangazi Bridge and Bursa-Istanbul-Izmir motorway was put into service area had a big impact on revenues, IDO which has been carrying millions of passengers between Istanbul and Bursa Osmangazi Orhangazi for 14 years has decided to stop its said service as of the beginning of 2021.

On the other hand, the toll of the Osmangazi Bridge for cars for 2021 is 147,50 TL, while for minibuses it is 236 TL.
