The number of Blue Flag beaches in Turkey reaches 531

BLUE FLAG BEACHES TURKEY

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has said that Turkey has maintained its place at the top of the Blue Flag awards this year, and the number of award-winning beaches has increased to 531. Pointing out that Turkey is the 3rd country with highest number of blue-flagged beaches country in the world, after Spain and Greece, Ersoy noted that Turkey has successfully maintained its place in the ranking this year as well.

Announcing that the number of award-winning beaches has reached 531 this year, Ersoy emphasized that they are aiming for the first place among the countries that practice the international Blue Flag in the number of beaches in 2023.

He noted that the Blue Flag would also be raised on the public beaches that they have opened in Antalya and Muğla this year adding 5 public beaches in Antalya and 1 public beach in Muğla were eligible for a Blue Flag.

LAKE IZNIK ALSO RECEIVES ITS FIRST BLUE FLAG

Turkey increased the number of award-winning beaches from 519 last year to 531 this year with 24 marinas and 15 tourism boats and 5 individual yachts found also eligible for the Blue Flag award in Turkey. Inciraltı Public Beach, located on Lake Iznik in Bursa, was also awarded the Blue Flag award for the first time this year.
