The number of women employees in Turkey’s tourism sector is increasing

The number of female employees in accommodation and food & beverage (F&B) increased by 17.7% in the third quarter of 2023, reaching nearly 600,000. The number of female workers was around 500,000 in the same period of 2022.

According to information compiled from TURKSTAT data by Tourism Databank, the number of female employees in accommodation and F&B increased by 17.7% in the third quarter of 2023, reaching nearly 600,000. The number of female workers was around 500,000 in the same period of 2022.

On the other hand, the number of male employees also increased by 8%, reaching around 1.35 million. The total number of employees in accommodation and F&B exceeded 1.942 million, and their share in Turkey rose from 5.6% to 6.1%.
