The stock market at its peak in TL, but at the bottom in dollar terms

Borsa Istanbul, which has made a premium of 37.3 percent on a TL basis since the beginning of the year, has lost 26.2 percent on a dollar basis.

While the stock market in Istanbul set records in terms of TL, the cheapness seen when viewed in terms of dollars reached remarkable levels. The index, which started the year at the level of 198 dollars, declined to 146 dollars on Friday. the index, which started 2021 at 1,482 points, achieved a return of 37.3 percent with 2,035 points, taking into account the December 10 close. But the price of the index in dollar terms is at the level of 146.8 dollars. Looking at it in dollar terms, it is observed that the index, which started the year at around 199.4 dollars, lost 26.3 percent with 146.8 dollars.
