The United States lifted the ban for laptop and tablet computers on flights from Turkey, on July 5 2017. Thus concerned ban lasted for 3 months only. It is reported that the UK is expected to do same after a technical delegation finalizes security inspections in airports across Turkey.

Turkish Airlines announced in a statement said that the ban was lifted on US border flights as of July 5th. The flag carrier accepted passengers with electronic devices from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Turkish Airlines also shared a tweet with its passengers about the lifting of the ban. The tweet read as follows:  “Dear Travelers, Welcome to our flight to the United States, please put on your seat belts and enjoy your own electronic devices.”

Transport Minister Ahmet Arslan said the ban was lifted at the beginning of July 5 because Turkey met all the requirements set by U.S. officials.
