Those who say ‘We can’t make ends meet’ have organized simultaneous actions against the cost of living across Turkey, under the leadership of the Consumer Protection Association,

 In a joint statement, activists reacting to the law planned by the government to prevent calculation and sharing of inflation figures by private establishments/groups (other than TUIK) said, “If you try to silence ENAG (private group), the people here will announce (spread the news) this inflation rate all over Istanbul. We won’t leave this job to an institution (meaning state establishment TUIK). You can no longer hide poverty. You can’t cover it up. Your thefts are obvious. It’s obvious what you’re stealing from the public. You will not be able to hide this.”

The Consumer Protection Association (TÜKODER) organized a simultaneous “We can’t make ends meet” action throughout Turkey. In the press statements made in the province, it was said “We want to live humanely” against the cost of life. Citizens were called out for with slogans such as ”Come get your empty wallet and shopping bag to stop the fire in the kitchen”.

Because while the price of everything increases by 2 times, rents increase by 2-3 times, TUIK says the inflation rate is 60 percent. Who would believe that lie? They are making laws to hide this fact.
