turkish_soldierAt a time when the government is trying to extend more rights to Turkish citizens of Kurdish origin mostly  in southeastern Turkey, under the name “KURDISH INITIATIVE”, the pro-kurdish terrorist organziation took the lives of another 3 soldiers in an ambush in Mardin.

Such irrational acts of violence have been putting more liberal and mild Kurdish people to include writers and members of NGOs who are trying to establish a bridge of understanding and democracy among all parties concerned, in a very difficult situation in the eyes
of the Turkish population, in specific.

The terrorist act was committed in Ömerli district of Mardin and two non-commissioned officers and one specialist sergeant were killed by terrorists.

The soldiers were returning to their garrison from a dinner invitation when alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, opened fire on them.

Non-commissioned officers Erhan Gül, Sadık Güllü and specialist sergeant Ali Öztürk died at the scene of the attack.

Mardin Governor Turhan Ayvaz said operations were initiated in the region to catch the terrorists.
