Turkish Airlines (THY) has decided to withdraw its 5 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft from operation at the first airport they land.

Following the emergency exit door detachment incident immediately after takeoff of an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued an instruction to ground Boeing-type aircraft. THY has also decided to withdraw its 5 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft from service.

A statement was issued by THY Press Consultancy regarding the matter. The statement said, ‘Following the preliminary examination by the authorities after the incident with Alaska Airlines’ Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, a precautionary inspection of the 5 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft in the Turkish Airlines fleet was requested.

Until the technical examination process in the incident is completed, and the measures requested by the authorities are taken, Turkish Airlines has decided to withdraw its 5 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft from operation at the first airport they land.
