Top official says Turkish Airlines can bring covid-19 vaccines in a few days, only

Speaking to the press a THY (Turkish Airlines) top official has said “Turkish Airlines served 88 points with cargo planes at the beginning of last year. During this time, when the demand for cargo to some specific destinations increased, we conducted additional cargo flights. As of now, we are conducting operations with our cargo planes to 96 points.”

If required THY can bring Kovid-19 vaccines in a few days, only

The official also shared following: “As Turkish Cargo, the share we receive from the world vaccine and drug market is 7.5 percent. We have completed our preparations to transport Covid-19 vaccines to many points in our network, Turkey to be in the first plan certainly. Said vaccines will be transported according to the information from the Ministry of Health”

The top official person went on to say, “With our fleet of 363 aircraft, we can bring the vaccines in a few days if we want. Our cold storage at Ataturk Airport alone, is capable of maintaining 150 aircraft pallets. So far, we have had certain shipments of vaccines. Depending on the type of vaccine, 70 thousand to 100 thousand doses can be transported in a container. Therefore, considering a frequency of two or three times a day we can handle 20-30 million doses of the vaccine in one day only at our facility at Ataturk Airport and deliver it to the needy.”
