Tourism in Turkey: At the End of the Season, Prices Drop While Quality Rises

Turkey’s “Golden Autumn” Tourism Advantage
Murat Akbal, Chairman of the Board of Akbal Tourism, highlighted that Turkey’s coastal regions transform into a calmer and more appealing destination at the end of the summer season. As September and October bring what is often called the “golden autumn” or “Indian summer,” Akbal argued that Turkey gains a significant edge over Greece thanks to lower prices and higher service quality.
A Peaceful Escape After the Summer Rush
“The golden light of September and the copper tones of October bring a calm and serene atmosphere to Turkey’s holiday resorts,” Akbal said. He emphasized that the sea remains warm, the sun continues to shine gently, but without the overwhelming crowds of the high season. This shift not only benefits travelers but also the tourism industry itself. “When the crowds pull back, service quality naturally rises while prices become more attractive,” he explained.
Why Turkey Tops Greece in Autumn Travel
Akbal drew a clear comparison between Turkey and neighboring Greece. While the Greek islands remain crowded and expensive well into September and October, Turkey’s coastal resorts offer a more peaceful and affordable alternative. “In Turkey, the crowds disappear, prices drop, and service quality improves. This is why more and more foreign tourists are choosing our country over Greece,” Akbal underlined.
