HIERAPOLIS

The “Night Museum at Hierapolis Ancient Site” project, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with SICPA Turkey, involved the installation of LED lighting systems at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hierapolis.

The travertine terraces, walking paths within Hierapolis, the ancient theater, and the Gate of Hell have been transformed with illumination. As of today, Pamukkale continues to welcome visitors after dark with the introduction of night museum experiences. Remaining open until midnight each day, the site can now be visited during the night with the existing entrance fees.

Following Ephesus Ancient City, Pamukkale becomes the second archaeological site in Turkey to offer night visits, with hopes of increasing visitor numbers.

Surprise for Holiday Visitors

Experiencing one of its busiest days due to the Ramadan holiday, Pamukkale surprised many visitors by opening its gates at night.

A visitor from Izmir, seized the opportunity to see Pamukkale at night based on recommendations from friends. She described the illuminated landscape as “magical” and “like a dream.”
