TUIK announces consumer confidence index figures for April 2022
The consumer confidence index figures, created by TURKSTAT in conjunction with the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, were announced for April 2022.
The consumer confidence index, which is adjusted for seasonal effects calculated from the results of the consumer trend survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 7.3 percent in April 2022, compared to the previous month; the index, which was 72.5 in March dropped down to 67.3 in April (these figures are over 200)
The consumer confidence index, which was 68.9 in December last year, increased by 1.9 percent in March compared to February. The index was 72.5 in March, up from 71.2 in February.
INDEX SEES LOWEST FIGURES SINCE 2002
The index had seen historic lows of 73.9 in November 2008 and 68.9 in December 2021. The new lowest data was 67.3 in April 2022.
