TUIK announces price indexes for November 2012

Inflation results for November 2012 were announced by TUIK.

CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, NOVEMBER 2012

Monthly change in CPI was realised by 0,38%.

A rise in general index was realised in the 2003 based Consumer Price Index on the previous month by 0,38%, on December of the previous year by 5,76%, on same month of the previous year by 6,37%, on the twelve months moving averages basis by 9,26% in November 2012.

The highest monthly increase was 6,28% in the index for clothing and footwear by main expenditure groups. The indices rose for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0,67%, for housing 0,56%, for furnishings and household equipment 0,21%, for communication 0,10%, for education 0,07%, for miscellaneous goods and services 0,04%, for alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0,01%, while the indices declined for health 0,05%, for food and non-alcoholic beverages 0,12%, for recreation and culture 0,32% and for transportation 0,97% in November 2012.

The highest increase was 11,69% in the index for housing compared with the same month of the previous year. Hotels, cafes and restaurants (9,44%), miscellaneous goods and services (8,90%), clothing and footwear (7,44%) were the other indices where high increases were realised.

The highest monthly increase in CPI by regional basis was in TRB1 (Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli) region (1,92%). The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TR33 (Manisa, Afyon, Kütahya, Uşak) region (6,63%) compared with the December of the previous year, TR33 (Manisa, Afyon, Kütahya, Uşak) region (7,35%) compared with the same month of the previous year and in TR71 (Kırıkkale, Aksaray, Niğde, Nevşehir, Kırşehir) region (10,65%) on the twelve months moving averages basis.

In November 2012 within average prices of 444 items in the index, average prices of 66 items remained unchanged while average prices of 252 items increased and average prices of 126 items decreased.
