Turkey and Israel Cooperating to Develop Joint R&D Projects

"Share this post on social media, spread the news"

The relation between Israel and Turkey had deteriorated due to the flotilla raid by Israeli security forces to cause deaths of 9 Turks, last year.

The tow parties have been flirting since then without showing the ultimate courage to shake hands and waiting for the other to make the first approach.

In spite of this delicate situation, these two “HOSTILE” brothers cannot give up cooperating with each other though in fields such as economy and technology.

In fact, the volume of trade between two countries seem not to have been very much effected due to said undesired event.

As an exampl,  the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council (TUBITAK) has announced this week that it will develop joint R&D projects, in cooperation with the Israeli Industry Center for R&D (MATIMOP)  focusing on developing innovative products and applications in all fields, including information and communication technologies, biotechnology, medical devices, food technologies, and automotive. The projects will be supported under the European Eureka program.

It is very clear that the two countries are in need of each other and will always be so in the future. In fact, Turkey has been the only country to open its doors to jewish people escaping from the Nazi holocaust during the second world war and many a jews have not forgotten this friendly hand strecthed out by Turkey at that time.
