Turkey starts suitably priced PCR testing for tourists coming from Bulgaria
Due to the fact that the cost of PCR testing in Bulgaria is TL 500, a new step was taken for Bulgarian citizens who do not take the test and come to Edirne. As of June 1, 2021, PCR testing will be carried out at Kapikule border crossing for TL 110.
After Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin KOCA announced that all passengers to come to Turkey via air, land and sea would be obliged to present a PCR test done in last 72 hours with negative result the PCR obligation practice exercised from December 30 at the gate opened to Bulgaria remains in effect.

Bulgarian citizens who found the test price of 500 pounds charged in Bulgaria did not prefer to come to Turkey. At this point Edirne Chamber of Commerce started a new project to work out the issue.
The chamber has announced that the PCR test which is TL 500 pounds in Bulgaria, will be performed at the Kapıkule border crossing in a laboratory environment as of June 1 for TL 110, and the test result will be given in 30 minutes.
The chamber explained Bulgarian citizens who came to Edirne to shop have started making a serious contribution to the city’s economy, increasing the volume of trade in the town.
The chamber also stated that there was no profit motive in the low-cost PCR test application.
