NATURAL GAS BOTAS PRICES INCREASE

Botas has announced a 15 percent increase in the tariff for industrial and electricity production. A tariff table for September was published on the website of oil transport Aş (BOTAŞ) by pipelines.

The sale price that BOTAŞ applied to gas distribution companies for residential consumers was set at TL 1,488 for 1000 cubic meters of natural gas, as in the current tariff.

According to the tariff in August, the tariff that will apply to industrial subscribers this month increased by 15 percent to TL 2,050 for 1000 cubic meters of natural gas, and for 1000 cubic meters of natural gas used by power plants, again increased by 15 percent to TL 2 thousand 369.

Natural gas and electricity hikes also expected

2 experts in the sector (former head of BOTAŞ gas procurement department and GM of a private company) have said that they expect a big increase in natural gas and electricity consequently, in the coming months.

According to SOZCU newspaper (a reporter), global oil and gas prices which hit rock bottom last year, are rising rapidly this year, while records in natural gas prices, especially in Europe, are attracting attention.

The European price of Russian gas, which Turkey currently buys through pipelines, a thousand cubic meters for about $ 240, exceeds $ 540 for the first time, while spot LNG prices are also at historic highs and are about twice the price of Turkey’s pipe gas purchases.
