Turkey’s electricity generation from domestic sources increases to 60 percent

It was shared by sources from the government that the share of domestic resources in electricity generation had risen to about 60 percent in January. Same officials also noted that the share of domestic resources in electricity production had been about 45 percent in January, last year.

It is a known fact that Turkey pays much attention to the need for more energy production to enable sufficient growth in industry in the first place. Accordingly, the country has been spending effort to increase electricity generation from domestic and renewable energy sources gradually.

Indeed, it has been reported that the share of domestic sources in electricity production has gone up to 60 percent in July, this year.

Based on the statement made by the authority the share of electricity produced by hydraulic in January last year which was calculated as 17.03 percent, has gone up to 30 percent, this year.

The share of wind in electricity generation increased from 7.21 percent to 8.40 percent and the share of the sun from 0.99 percent to 1.52 percent.
