Turkey’s Finance Minister Şimşek makes announcement saying “the Greatest in History”

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced via his Twitter account regarding the issuance of Euro-denominated bonds, stating, “We successfully completed our highest-value Euro issuance in the history of our country yesterday.”

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, in his social media post about the Euro bond issuance, said the following:

“We successfully completed our highest-value Euro issuance in the history of our country yesterday.

The spread of our first Euro bond issuance, amounting to 2 billion and conducted after a three-year hiatus, reached its lowest level since 2017.

With demand exceeding five times the offer, our transaction became the first Euro issuance outside of investment-grade rated country issuances this year.

Our objectives will be achieved without hindrance.

This successful issuance is a clear indication of international investors’ confidence in our country and their belief in our program.

Speculative narratives and positions formed during the local election process will not impede the achievement of our program’s objectives.
