Turkish companies make strong appearance at Marmomacc Marble Fair in Verona
Turkish marble companies have made a remarkable statement at the Marmomacc Marble and Technology Fair known as one of the world’s largest fairs held in Italy-Verona this year. In the fair which attracted 1670 exhibitors from the world, Turkey made its presence felt with a high participant number of 130 Turkish marble companies.
Istanbul Mineral & Metals Exporters Union participated in the 52nd Verona Marble Products and Technologies Fair, on a national scale for the 8th time, this year. 63 national participants from Turkey as well as 67 individual participants and 17 product development (URGE) projects enjoyed great attention from visitors.
Turkey, which has the largest reserves of marble and travertine in the world, exports to about 175 countries, currently. The Turkish marble and mining sector has realized exports worth over USD 3 billion in the first 8 months this year. The marble sector targets to achieve an export figure of USD 2 billion by the end of 2017.
Representatives of participating Turkish companies have made very productive business negotiations with importers from all over the world at the Fair and established important business contacts for future cooperation.
