Turkish politics may undergo very important developments in the coming period

A Survey company called POLIMETRE and known to have predicted the 1 million vote margin in favor of Imamoglu in last Istanbul local elections, has announced its most recent election poll results. The poll shows a significant decline in AK Party and MHP votes and the new parties which are being established by former AK Party members are observed to be among most important factors causing this situation.

Although AK Party appears to have dropped to 30 per cent, it is still seems to be leading party in Turkey’s politics. The MHP on the other hand is observed to stand below the country’s threshold of 8.9 per cent.

In this case the Republican Alliance’s potential remains at 38.9 per cent whereas the total votes of parties other than the Cumhur Alliance which we can call opposition front (CHP, Good Party, HDP and new ones to come) are calculated to be at least 60.7 per cent.

If this picture turned out to be true it would be a nightmare for AK Party and its leader. The question now is, “What would / could Erdoğan do to overcome this not very promising position to ensure he does not let the power go”.

It is also known that he is a very talented and experienced politician who has been able to cope with such very critical situations through very creative strategies, until today.
