Turkish security teams come to aid of British paraglider after hard landing on Belcekız Beach

BRITISH CITIZEN FETHIYE PARACHUTE ACCIDENT

In the district of Fethiye in Muğla, Turkish gendarmerie teams came to the aid of a British paraglider who made a hard landing on Belcekız Beach.

Gerald Nelson, a British enthusiast of paragliding who was on vacation in Turkey, had completed a solo flight from Babadağ to Ölüdeniz. After initiating his descent towards Belcekız Beach, he made a hard landing on the beach in front of the Ölüdeniz Gendarmerie Station.

Search and Rescue teams (JAK), Fethiye Neighborhood Search and Rescue (MAG) teams, as well as medical personnel rushed to his aid. After the initial medical intervention, British paraglider Gerald Nelson was taken to Fethiye Özel Lokman Hekim Esnaf Hospital by ambulance.

An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
