US manufacturer of diesel engines launches filter factory in Izmir
Cummins launches Turkish plant
Cummins Inc, US-based manufacturer of diesel engines and engine components, has officially launched its diesel filter production facility in Turkey’s Izmir on the Aegean coast.
The USD 70 million production facility located in the Aegean Free Zone (ESBAS) will initially employ 85 workers which will gradually reach 500 by 2015.
“The selection of Turkey and Izmir has been a meticulous 2-year process. We plan to make our Izmir facility a production and supply center in the future..”, Cummins Filtration President Joseph Saoud said at the inauguration ceremony.
Active in 190 countries, Cummins has production operations in 10 countries including Turkey.
