V. Salih Çene: A Consultant/Expert in Turkish Tourism Industry
In this post we would like to write about V. Salih ÇENE who is one of the most recognized professionals in the Turkish Tourism Industry.
This gentleman has been a source of reference for many local and foreign entrepreneurs and companies in theeir business initiatives. Entrepreneurs interested in investing in tourism in Turkey would certainly be welcome to take contact with him should they be in need of first hand information.
Mr. CENE is one of the most important outstanding consultant experts in the tourism sector in Turkey. He was born in Istanbul in 1950. He studied at Hotel & Catering Administration at Westminster Technical College / London.
His professional life started as a receptionist at Tusan Uludağ Grand Hotel in 1969. In 1971 receptionist in Hilton Hotel-Istanbul and in 1972 Head-Receptionist in Manavgat Tusan Hotel. Then travelled to England for his higher education and between October 1972 to 1978 he worked and trained in departments of Service ( Waiter, Barman, Headwaiter, Restaurant Manager); Kitchen (Pastry, Larder, Patisserie); Front Office (reception, reservations, night audit); Accounting and Human Resources.
In his management career, he has worked as general manager in many reputable international hotel chains such as Hotel Tusan, Turban Hotels, Club Hotel Incekum, Hotel Kaya –Side, Elite Hotels – Chairman
During the recent years he has been providing consultancy services to biggest chains (both local and foreign).
Mr. CENE has also attended an abundant number of congresses and meetings during his career.
He has been part of the International SKAL for along time now and performed tasks such as International Councillor for Turkey , Vice President – Skal International Turkey, International Councillor for Turkey , President – Skal International TURKEY and Vice Chairman External Affairs Committee, so far.
He has written weekly articles in a prominent newspaper AKSAM ( 2007-2009) as well as various articles in published and internet Tourism Magazines. He was guest speaker in many in Tourism programs on local TVs.
He has delievered many lectures at several universities.He has participated in many conferences and symposiums as a speaker, moderator & observer.
