Weather in Turkey on August 24, 2025: Rain and Cooler Temperatures Expected in the West

Istanbul, Muğla, and Antalya Weather Highlights – August 24, 2025
According to the latest forecast from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, western parts of the country will experience a noticeable drop in temperatures, accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas. While much of the country will remain under sunny skies, those in coastal and northern regions should prepare for wet and cooler conditions.
Rain Returns to Istanbul as Temperatures Drop
Istanbul will see partly cloudy skies throughout the day with temperatures hovering around 30°C. Although it’s not expected to rain heavily, there is a slight chance of local showers, particularly during midday and afternoon hours. A refreshing change after recent heatwaves, this shift brings a more comfortable atmosphere to the city.
Sunny and Hot in Muğla
If you’re in Muğla or planning a trip to the region, expect clear skies and classic summer weather. The area, including popular holiday destinations like Bodrum and Fethiye, will continue to bake under the sun, with temperatures pushing into the mid-30s. No rain is on the radar, so it’s the perfect beach day ahead.Antalya Stays Dry and Mild
Antalya remains calm and mostly sunny, with daytime highs around 31°C. The city and surrounding coastal areas will enjoy stable weather, making it ideal for those enjoying the tail end of summer vacation. Humidity may be slightly elevated, but sea breezes will help balance things out.
Elsewhere in Turkey
The northern and Black Sea regions, including cities like Samsun and Rize, will face intervals of rain and thunderstorms. The Marmara region (especially Kocaeli and Sakarya) may also see spot showers. Meanwhile, Central Anatolia and much of the Aegean and Southeast will stay dry, sunny, and warm—though a few degrees cooler in the west. The hottest conditions continue in the Southeast, where temperatures in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep soar above 40°C.
In short, western Turkey cools down while the south and east hold onto summer. Stay weather-aware if you’re traveling or planning outdoor activities, especially in northern coastal regions.
