Weekend Weather Warning from Meteorology! Cooler and Rainy Weather is Coming: City-by-City Forecast

According to the Turkish State Meteorological Service, much of the country is expected to experience partly to mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the southeastern parts of the Marmara region, western Thrace, eastern Aegean, inner parts of the western Mediterranean, the Taurus region of eastern Mediterranean, northwestern Central Anatolia, inland parts of the western Black Sea, coastal areas of the central Black Sea, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, as well as around Gümüşhane and Kayseri.

Here’s the region-by-region forecast for May 9, 2025:

MARMARA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms are expected in the southeastern parts of the region and western Thrace.

• Edirne: 27°C — Partly cloudy, becoming mostly cloudy later, with showers and thunderstorms in the evening.
• Istanbul: 24°C — Partly to mostly cloudy.

AEGEAN
Partly to mostly cloudy in the east. Local showers and thunderstorms expected in eastern Afyonkarahisar and around Kütahya in the afternoon.

• Izmir: 33°C — Partly cloudy.
• Muğla: 28°C — Partly cloudy.
  

MEDITERRANEAN
Partly to mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms expected in inner and highland areas.

• Antalya: 27°C — Partly cloudy.
  

CENTRAL ANATOLIA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms are forecast in the western parts and around Kayseri.

• Ankara: 28°C — Partly to mostly cloudy, with brief local showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

WESTERN BLACK SEA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms expected in inland areas in the afternoon.

CENTRAL & EASTERN BLACK SEA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in inland areas and along the central coast.

EASTERN ANATOLIA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms expected in Hakkari, Kars, southern Iğdır, Ağrı, Şırnak, and eastern parts of Van.

• Kars: 22°C — Partly to mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in the evening.

SOUTHEASTERN ANATOLIA
Partly to mostly cloudy. Northern areas may experience local showers and thunderstorms this evening.

• Diyarbakır: 32°C — Partly cloudy.
