The trilateral meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of Russia-Ukraine-Turkey, was held in Antalya today, with the mediation of Turkey. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who held a press conference after the meeting, answered the question “Will there be a nuclear war” “I don’t want to believe it and I don’t believe it”.

The trilateral peace summit, which was attended by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitri Kuleba lasted 1.5 hours. The summit started at 11.20 and ended at 12.50.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba hold separate press conferences after the meeting.

After the summit Kuleba said “I came here with a human purpose.” Lavrov on the other hand said “It became clear today that there is nothing to replace the negotiations.” Russian Foreign Minister also answered the question “Will there be a nuclear war” by saying “I don’t want to believe and I don’t believe it”.

Noting that they wanted the actual negotiating path not to be misused, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said: “It was understood today there is nothing to replace the negotiations. We have confirmed that our proposal for the opening of humanitarian corridors on a daily basis is still valid. Those who sent weapons to Ukraine are responsible for their actions. Those who also encourage hired fighters will be responsible for this.”

Lavrov went on to say, “We want Ukraine to be a neutral country. By opposing the expansion of NATO, we are in no way opposed to ensuring Ukraine’s security. In fact, we are facing a lot of allegations about the atrocities committed by the Russian armed forces. The data on the dismissal of all nurse doctors in this maternity hospital were submitted to the UN 3 days ago.”

“PUTIN WILL NOT REFUSE TO MEET WITH ZELENSKIY”

Stressing that Putin would never refrain from contacts, Lavrov noted: “We don’t want these contacts to happen just for the sake of words. We discussed this with Kuleba. Putin will not refuse to meet with Zelenskiy.”

“WE WILL NEVER DEPEND ON THE WEST”

Lavrov recently said, “We will solve the issue of sanctions in such a way that we will never depend on the West. We will take such measures that we will not fall into a similar situation again.”

“LAVROV DID NOT SHOW DETERMINATION”

Noting that the meeting was both easy and difficult, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said: “It was difficult because I did my best. My goal was to find at least a diplomatic solution. The most tragic situation is currently taking place in Mariupol. The city is under aerial bombardment. And I came here for a humanitarian purpose. My goal is to ensure the formation of a humanitarian corridor to ensure the exit of civilians from Mariupol. Unfortunately, Minister Lavro did not show determination on this issue, but stated that he would correspond with the relevant authorities.”

“I CAME HERE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINDING SOLUTIONS, HE CAME TO LISTEN”

Noting that part of the 24-hour ceasefire was also discussed at the meeting, Kuleba said: “We have not made any progress on this issue. It seems that different decision makers will have to step in. We decided to continue our efforts. I’ll talk again in this format. I came here (Antalya) as a Foreign Minister, as someone who has the authority to make decisions, to find a solution. But he (Lavrov) came only for the purpose of listening.”
