What Will the Weather Be Like in Some Regions This Weekend?
Turkey will generally have partly cloudy and sunny weather this weekend, although thunderstorms and locally heavy showers are expected in parts of the interior and eastern regions.
According to forecasts from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, Saturday will bring partly cloudy conditions to much of the country, while the northern and eastern parts of Turkey will see scattered thunderstorms and showers. The strongest rainfall is expected in parts of the Eastern Black Sea region.
Temperatures will remain around 30 to 33°C in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, while Ankara is expected to reach around 24°C.
Rain Moves Further East on Sunday
On Sunday, the area affected by rain is expected to become smaller. Showers and thunderstorms will continue at times across the inland parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions and northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia.
There may also be local thunderstorms in the inland parts of the Mediterranean region and around the Taurus Mountains.
Western Turkey should remain mostly partly cloudy to sunny.
Istanbul Weather This Weekend
Istanbul is expected to have generally dry and partly cloudy weather over the weekend. Temperatures should reach around 25 to 26°C during the day, with cooler mornings and evenings. The latest hourly forecast shows no significant rainfall expected for Saturday or Sunday.
Muğla and the Aegean Coast
Muğla is also expected to have a warm and mainly dry weekend. Saturday temperatures are forecast to reach around 29°C, with cooler conditions overnight. The current forecast does not indicate significant rainfall, although conditions can vary between the coast and inland areas of Muğla.
Antalya Weather
Antalya should remain warm and mostly sunny, with temperatures around 32 to 33°C during the weekend. The latest forecast indicates mainly clear or lightly cloudy conditions, making it a typical late-summer weekend on the Mediterranean coast.
The main weather concern this weekend is therefore not across the whole country but in the northern and eastern interior regions, particularly parts of the Eastern Black Sea area. Meteorologists are warning people in areas expecting heavy rain to be alert for possible flash flooding, water accumulation and transport disruption.
