White House statement on Erdogan: There is no programmed event

A statement has come from the White House regarding whether Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will visit US President Joe Biden.

It had been claimed that Erdogan would visit the US as an official guest on May 9th and would meet with Biden.

Some sources had suggested that this visit was canceled due to Turkey’s anti-Israeli policies.

According to Voice of America Turkish, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby answered a question about the matter while on the plane with Biden heading to New York.

Kirby said, “There is no programmed event regarding President Erdogan’s visit.”
