Why do Brits in search of a home abroad prefer Turkey over Spain?

We often hear actual stories about foreigners (and Brits in specific) preferring Turkey over countries like Spain when they start searching for a home abroad to spend the rest of their lives. The interesting thing is although Spain might still be more popular currently – as it gets more publicity, once the potential house buyers are informed about the alternative of Turkey they mostly prefer to buy a house in this country.

When asked, most say “real estate prices are much more affordable“ especially for retired people wishing to start a new life in a different country. Based on what these people report, most of the time television turns out to be a good tool to promote Turkey so that these potential buyers are much better informed about what this country has to offer. Then, most prefer to book a holiday in Turkey to see one-to-one what the country and actual life is like.

Another credit for Turkey has often been the fact many of these potential buyers fall in love with the hospitality and friendship of the local people as well as the scenery and other attractions not to forget sun and sea privilege after which they decide to buy a property in this country.

Turkish Cuisine on the other hand is absolutely delicious with plenty of vegetables (and meat certainly). Then again, one can enjoy an abundance of fruit in this country.

Brits mostly prefer the Aegean region of Turkey to settle and places like Bodrum, Datça, Kalkan, Kuşadası, Didim etc. which are all located in south western Anatolia (Asia Minor as it is also referred to).

Fethiye is probably the town that hosts most British people. This is a large town which offers amenities such as a prime class marina and accommodation facilities as well as a superb nature to include surrounding mountains, beautiful climate and sea.

As for activities over here one could do walking, socialising, reading, cooking, swimming in the summer etc. Fethiye is also very close to some unparalleled historical attractions such as Aspendos as well and Antalya, a mega town with all modern facilities.

It is recommended that any visitors to have a nice time in referred region should prefer to come in Spring or Autumn as July and August could be a little too hot
