Citizens of 119 different countries own residences in Antalya
According to the data of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, between 2015 and 2022, foreigners from 119 different countries bought 46 thousand 663 properties in Antalya. Among them are people from Yemen, where the civil war is continuing, as well as citizens of countries such as Somalia, Rwanda, Chile, Myanmar.
CHP Antalya Deputy Rafet Zeybek said foreigners from 119 different countries, including Indonesia, Argentina, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, almost all EU countries and even Yemen, where the civil war is ongoing, owned real estate in Antalya.
“However, in our city, where our foreign neighbors can own a house, citizens of the Republic of Turkey cannot even find a rental house according to their budget, let alone buy a house” he went on to say.
“However, another point of this situation is that the economic crisis that began with the presidential love of the AKP is now felt more and more today, as a result of increasing inflation, citizens of this country are forced to buy housing””
“A citizen who has worked in the public or private sector for many years and wants to buy a house in Antalya with a pension bonus has been able to pay only the down payment on an average house. If a house is bought with a loan, it is necessary to pay a loan installment of at least 4 times his salary.”
“Unfortunately, in a city like Antalya that foreigners demand, house rents are much higher than average salaries. During the period of appointment of civil servants, it has become almost impossible to find a rental house suitable for their budget for the post-registration housing of university students and for newly married couples to build a home.
