2nd day in earthquake tragedy: Loss of life increases to 4 thousand 544

Turkey was shaken by the earthquake news from Kahramanmaraş on the morning of February 6th. The magnitude of the earthquake, the epicenter of which was determined as PAZARCIK district, was 7.7. After this earthquake, AFAD reported that there was another 7.6 magnitude earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş Elbistan at 13:24.

After Kahramanmaraş, the earthquake that affected Hatay, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Malatya, Adana, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Adiyaman and Kilis the most, destroyed thousands of buildings.

A level four disaster alert was issued due to the fact that international assistance might also be needed.

LOSS OF LIFE INCREASES TO 4,544

At 19:54 AFAD reported that 4 thousand 544 people had lost their lives in the earthquakes, 26 thousand 721 people were injured, the number of destroyed buildings was 5 thousand 775.
