48 percent increase in public transportation in Izmir
Public transportation fares in Izmir were increased by 48 percent. Accordingly, the first boarding fee, which was 8.78 liras, increased to 13 liras.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s request to increase public transportation fees due to increasing fuel prices was accepted at Izmir Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME).
With the decision taken at UKOME, the first boarding fee, which was 8.78 liras, increased to 13 liras.
The first transfer fee, which was 3.5 liras, was 6.5 liras, and the second transfer fee, which was 2 liras, was 3.26 liras.
The student ticket, which is 3 liras in public transportation, went up to 5.14 liras, while the 60-year-old first boarding was determined as 11.50 liras, first transfer was determined as 5.76 liras, and second transfer was determined as 2.88 liras.
